New Overloud Licensing

Overloud is moving from the current software licensing system by PACE AP www.paceap.com to a new system of our own, here called Overloud licensing.

You will get several good points from this move:

• no required device drivers to install anymore;
• no more inter-dependences with other applications installing wrong versions of the same drivers;
• no more obscure problems with the authorization process: everything is now under our direct control;
• no third party companies involved while helping users authorizing our products;
• amazingly easy to authorize on computers connected to the Internet: just install and run the application, then type in a few information when required, click OK and you're done!
• authorizations on offline computers supported as well, of course;
• de-authorization: it's even possible to de-authorize a computer. The allowable authorization count will be adjusted on our servers and you'll be able to authorize again on a separate computer (suitable for timed usages).

At same time, following points will also be part of the change:

• PACE AP and Overloud licensing systems can't live together. Your currently installed products will continue to work until you install a new version. After you installed the updated version of the Overloud application, you'll have to authorize again with the new system. Up to 3 authorizations will be available, even if you were already using, say, 2 with PACE AP system;
• iLok users will have to authorize again with the Overloud licensing system which is file based therefore not living on a hardware key. We have scheduled to additionally support hardware keys, but this won't start immediately. However with the added de-authorize feature it will still be possible to temporarily authorize on a computer like you would do by temporarily plugging the iLok on it (i.e. for a work in a studio).

So, what have you to do now?
Nothing by now. Just keep on using your Overloud applications. As soon as the next update will be released, after the installation, you will be prompted to authorize. Then, just follow the instructions provided and you're done.

Please note that your current situation (PACE AP licensing) can be recovered even after installing and authorizing a newer version with Overloud licensing: you just should re-install the former version of the application and it will work again as before. Take this back-step process as a safe way to instantly restore a working condition if you have troubles with the new licensing management, but please don't hesitate to contact us in case.

Overloud support is ready to assist you in any issue you may encounter during authorization, even if we are very confident that you will experience a very smooth transition to the new licensing system.

Best Regards,
Overloud
